The Room Next Door | Almodóvar

Venice International Film Festival, awarded with the Golden Lion

 

Drama film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar in his English-language full-length debut. 
For the project, he enlists Oscar winners Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton, who star here in a wonderfully colorful, moving, and smart drama that premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival and won much acclaim, with many praising the exciting acting, the surprising plot, and, as always with Almodóvar, the brilliant, courageous, and unique cinematics.

Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

National Theatre Live on Screen | Dr. Strangelove - Stanley Kubrick

The second production of the season in the National Theatre Live series from London -
a stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comic masterpiece.

 

Seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan plays four roles in the stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece Dr. Strangelove. This explosively funny satire, about a rogue U.S. general who triggers a nuclear attack, is led by a world-renowned creative team including Emmy Award-winner Armando Iannucci and Olivier Award-winner Sean Foley.
Coogan is terrific, making each of Peter Seller’s (in the original film) roles his own
